  • 15th November 2013: 8:30am –Opening Ceremony –by Samoa Deputy Prime Minister-Afioga Fonotoe Nuafesili P.Lauofo and Major of Auckland City-Afioga Tauaaletoa Len Brown
  • 16th November 2013-Trade Exhibition continues at Mangere Arts Centre –Closing Ceremony at 12pm

Trade Mission Objectives:

  • To increase export of Samoa made goods & services to New Zealand.
  • To launch & showcase new Samoan developed goods & existing services available in Samoa
  • To Increase investment to enhance Samoa Export Capacity

·         On-going New Zealand radio publicity –with prizes- Samoan Made goods/services-offered to winners-to be awarded during the trade show

·          Promotion of event –through word of mouth; networking with the Auckland City Council; and Pacific Community

·         Radio/TV/Tagata Pasefika –promotions. The Coordinating committee will conduct live interviews with the media starting 14th October 2013 in New Zealand (and also Samoa)

·         Give away leaflets-

·         Display Banners; Signage; Bill-boards, etc

·         Promotional Seminar/Presentation-during the trade show

·         Sponsorships-naming rights-publicity- still open

 

Trade Mission Programme (3 days)

  • Refer Annex 1 (draft tbc)

    • Q&A sessions after each presentation
    • Product displays, showcase & networking/mingling sessions
    • Morning & afternoon tea interval breaks
    • Open forums between Samoan participants & NZ business partners

    • Potentially arrange visits to certain willing businesses (field trips)

 

Trade Mission Funding/Sponsorship:

  • SAT$50k Private Sector Support Facility (PSSF) budget support for SAME
  • PSSF funding availability to eligible individual SAME members or interest businesses
    • 3 days hotel accommodation
    • Per diem
    • 1 return airline ticket
  • Polynesian Shipping Line FREE container shipment for participants
  • Corporate Sponsorship from various business organisations – in Samoa and New Zealand (SIFA/ANZ Bank (Exclusive Bank)/ Digicel/ Air New Zealand/Virgin Samoa/etc ) TBC
  • PSSF application will be prepared/coordinated by the SAME Technical Advisor-Laisene Tuioti Mariner

 

Trade Exhibition Goods Requirements/ Shipping Arrangements

 

All goods planned for the exhibition will be shipped freight free to New Zealand and will be cleared and delivered to the exhibition site at Mangere Arts Centre before the exhibition takes place.

 

Goods are required to be delivered to the Polynesian Shipping Yard at Matautu, Apia, Samoa- starting from the 14th October to the latest 22nd October 2013- care of Teuila Eteuati.  All exhibition goods to be sent in the SAME Trade Exhibition sea-freight container; hand carried or airfreighted for the Exhibition must comply with the following:

·         Produced in Samoa by a member of SAME

·         Be properly packed and labelled in accordance with New Zealand Labelling requirements

·         Presented in the highest standard required for export trade promotional purposes

·         Packing list and pricing both on LCL and FCL basis must be prepared for availability at the exhibition

·         Export Capacity must be established
